P. JAMES AND JOYCE E. NIELSEN SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIP

The P. James Nielsen Scholarship was established in honor of Dr. P. James Nielsen, former professor of biological sciences at Western Illinois University. CRITERIA: Be enrolled in the RISE (Research Inspiring Student Excellence) program, Be a Sophomore, junior, or senoir biology major with at least a 2.8 GPA, Have at least one semester experience conducting research with a faculty mentor in the Department of Biological Sciences, Have career aspirations to pursue graduate or professional school after earning B.S., Submit a letter of recommendation from a faculty mentor.
