Frank Fulkerson Endowed Psychology Transfer Scholarship

Frank Fulkerson came to WIU in the Fall of 1968 as an Assistant Professor of Psychology. Following several years as a faculty member, he became Chair of the Department in the Fall of 1976, continuing in that position until the Fall of 1985. He then served the College of Arts and Sciences as first Assistant Dean and later as Associate Dean until the Fall of 1998. During his time in the Dean’s Office Dr Fulkerson continued to teach large sections of Introduction to Psychology and a Careers in Psychology course, which he developed and taught for the Department. He was also a Consulting Editor for the national journal Teaching of Psychology. He returned to the Psychology Department full-time in the Fall of 1998, where he served until the end of the 2000 calendar year, at which time he retired from the University. After his retirement Fulkerson returned to the University as a Temporary Professor to teach Introduction to Psychology in Macomb, and Principles of Behavior Modification in Moline; served as Interim Chair of the Physics Department for 9 months, and Acting Chair of his home Department of Psychology for the Fall of 2008. At the end of the Fall 2008 semester, Fulkerson retired for the last time.
