BGS Alumni Scholarship

One of the most important measures of an institution is the success of its alumni. Nearly 7,000 people living across the United States and throughout the world are proud to trace their academic roots to Western Illinois University’s Bachelor of Arts in General Studies Degree (formally Board of Trustees Bachelor of Arts degree). Each year BOT/BA and BGS alumni donate to provide current BGS students with the necessary assistance that will aid them to receiving their degrees.

CRITERIA:
 Must be admitted to the BGS program
 In good standing with the university and with the community
 Must have financial need
 Must also have been actively working to complete the BGS degree during the past two semesters. Students who meet one of the following criteria are considered active:
o Received credit for completed coursework at WIU;
o Received credit for completed coursework at regionally accredited institutions or through ACE-evaluated military or non-collegiate training during summer and/or fall terms;
o Submitted prior learning portfolio materials (in draft or completed form) to a BGS academic advisor;
o Or can provide evidence of proficiency testing.
