Mary Olive Woods Scholarship

The Mary Olive Wood Trust dates back to the 1980s. The WIU Foundation became an annual recipient of trust income (in perpetuity) to provide a curriculum of religious studies and speakers addressing religious topics.

CRITERIA:
• Enrolled full-time undergraduate student (or a minimum of 3 credit hours for Religious Studies minors) OR graduate Liberal Arts and Sciences student working in the field of Religious Studies who is in the final stages of their thesis or applied project
• Nlinimum 2.5 cumulative GPA for current students or a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA for new freshman/ transfer students
• First preference to students minoring in Religious Studies
• Second preference to Philosophy minors who are enrolled in a Religious Studies course at the time of application
• Third preference to African-American Studies, Women’s Studies, or Cannabis and Culture minors who are enrolled in at least their first Religious Studies course at the time of application
• Fourth preference to LAS majors who are not minoring in African American Studies, Women’s Studies, Philosophy, or Religious Studies
• Letter of recommendation
