HOWARD S. WALKER FIRE PROTECTIVE SERVICE ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is funded by H. Scott Walker. As a retired firefighter and longtime educator in the field of fire studies, he greatly appreciates the necessity and value of education for our firefighters in their mission to save lives and protect property. This scholarship is named after and dedicated to his father, Howard Walker; who inspired his son to be a life-long learner.

CRITERIA:
 Undergraduate students enrolled fulltime and majoring in Fire Protection Services at WIU
 Minimum of a 3.0 GPA
 Selection is to be based on a resume` review with preference given to students who:
o Are members of Omega Gamma Phi
o Have displayed initiative through participation in ancillary fire service training opportunities
o Show community service initiative through volunteering
o Are members of Western Emergency Management System
o Currently rostered with a fire department
