School of Computer Sciences Freshman or Transfer Scholarship

This scholarship is intended for freshman or transfer students wishing to enroll in the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, the Bachelor of Science in Cyber Security degree, or the Bachelor of Science in Information Systems in the School of Computer Sciences at Western Illinois University. Applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from a high school or college teacher. Students entering as a freshman must submit an official copy of their ACT or other standardized test scores. Transfer students entering as freshmen or sophomores must also submit an official copy of their ACT or other standardized test scores. An official transcript of credits must be mailed to Western Illinois University directly from each college or university attended. Students should have a demonstrated interest in one or more of the undergraduate programs in the School of Computer Sciences in response to questions on the application form. Preference may be given to transfer students.
Minimum requirements for freshman are a score of 23 on the ACT or 1130 on the SAT. Transfer students must have an overall college GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Transfer students entering as freshman or sophomores must also have a score of 23 on the ACT or 1130 on the SAT. Students must be declared CS, CSEC, or IS majors, and registered for courses appropriate for that major in each semester in which this scholarship is received.
