BRUCE KRUSE SCHOLARSHIP
Dr. Bruce Kruse began his teaching career at Western Illinois University in 1968. He was named Chair of the Department of Accountancy and Quantitative Studies in 1969, a position he held until his retirement in 1986. Dr. Kruse was a US Army veteran and also held teaching positions at Louisiana State University, Iowa State University, University of Alaska, and St. Cloud State University. He was a member of the American Accounting Association, the National Association of Accountants, and Institute of Internal Auditors. Dr. Kruse is remembered as a mentor to all, both faculty and students, as well as a strong advocate for WIU.
CRITERIA:
• Accounting or Pre-Accounting major
• Minimum 3.0 WIU GPA
• Minimum of 30 semester hours completed; sophomore standing or above
• Participation in accounting organizations and activities
• Preference given to students from McDonough and Adams counties in Illinois
