Matthew Miller, SRA & Dr. Laura Miller Endowed Scholarship

The Miller’s met in 1988 at WIU while both working at Aurelio’s Pizza, pursuing degrees in History (‘92) and Psychology (’92).

Matthew has been a Real Estate Appraiser since 1993 and started what would become Rally Appraisal in 1998. Rally Appraisal has 22 locations in 6 states which are Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska and Wisconsin. Matthew is designated as an SRA member of Appraisal Institute and received two Alumni Achievements Awards from Western Illinois University.

After graduating from WIU, Laura pursued her Doctorate of Chiropractic graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1997 and had been a licensed Chiropractor in the State of Iowa since that time.

Downstate Illinois is currently underserved by Real Estate Appraisers in many areas and this can be a very satisfactory career path in terms of both quality of life, and economic opportunity. It is also one that flies under the radar and most people are not aware of it or how to purse it as a career path. The scholarship is intended to help interested students purse this career path or other Real Estate fields through WIU. Rally has many WIU graduates currently on staff in locations in Illinois, Iowa and Missouri.
