Pamela S. Hoffman Excellence in Teaching Scholarship

Frederick (Fred) Hoffman created this scholarship in memory of his wife Pamela (Pam) Hoffman. Fred and Pam both attended WIU. Fred recevied his BA in Political Science in 1970 and Pam recevied her BA in English in 1970. Pam taught at Mundelein High School, Illinois Centeral College, the University of St. Francis, and Oakland Community College. Pam had a strong commitment to the field of education and to WIU. She served on both the WIU College of Arts and Scriences Advisory Board as well as the WIU Alumni Council, including time as president of the Alumni Council.

CRITERIA & ELIGIBILITY:

  • English Education major in good academic standing
  • Have out-of-pocket expenses assoicated with becoming a license teacher. This can include getting fingerprinted, taking content test and the edTPA, gas money to travel to student teaching sites, or other expenses.
