Sigma Chi House Scholarship
This scholarship by Dr. Charles “Chuck” Gilbert of Nauvoo, IL. Chuck started working at Western Illinois University in 1972; he retired in 2005 as the Director of Institutional Research and Planning (IRP). The primary purpose of the award is to recognize those undergraduate members of the Fraternity who best exemplify those character traits enumerated in the “Jordan Standard” of Sigma Chi Fraternity.
Scholarship Citeria:
• Active member for at least one year of the Sigma Chi Fraternity
• Sophomore,junior, or senior class level (minimum 30 semester hours earned)
• Enrolled full time
• Principal officers of the Chapter are eligible, but holding an elective leadership position is not the primary criteria for the award
• Evidence of involvement in campus activities, fraternity public service or philanthropic projects, and other chapter activities, especially in a leadership capacity will be considered
• Applicants must be in academic good standing, and have earned a cumulative grade point average of 2.25 or better.
• Financial need using the financial aid FAFSA or other documentation may be considered
