Ken & Lorraine Epperson Scholarship
This was established by Kenneth “Ken” and Lorraine Epperson of Macomb, IL. Both Ken (Industrial Education & Technology – 1946; MS – Education – 1952) and Lorraine (Business Education -1948 and MS – Business Education – 1952) received both their Bachelor’s degrees and Master’s degrees from WIU. Ken was a football and basketball player and a track and field athlete while a student at WIU; he also worked at WIU for over 20 years, with the position of Director of University Community College Relations at the time of his retirement. Kenny & Lorraine worked in real estate for many years and owned the Century 21 Purdum-Epperson, Inc. Real Estate Agency in Macomb. Ken has passed but Lorraine continues working in real estate. Lorraine has served Western Illinois University in every way possible including alumni council, foundation board, and as a Trustee for the university.
The Epperson’s Scholarships will be a great source of pride for Western Illinois University. It will honor the great legacy that the Epperson’s have established at Western Illinois University.
CRITERIA & ELIGIBILITY:
• Applicants must have applied and be accepted at Western Illinois University
• First preference will be given to graduates from Macomb Senior High School
• Second preference will be given to someone who lives in McDonough County
• Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 gpa.
• Preference will be given to applicants who have been active in school and community activities.
