Matthew H. McGuinness Memorial Scholarship
The Matthew H. McGuinness Memorial Scholarship was established in 1989 by Denise Otto McGuinness in memory of her son, Matthew. It is for a Non-Traditional Studies Program student in the physical education area. Matthew was killed in an automobile accident in August 1988. Denise is a 1959 graduate of Western Illinois University.
CRITERIA:
Kinesiology major
Non-traditional student (generally a student 25 years of age or older who started college later in life; or one whose education was interrupted and is now returning to campus to complete his or her degree)
Undergraduate class level and must have completed at least 24 semester hours of coursework at WIU
Minimum 2.75 GPA
Demonstrated involvement in the Macomb community.
