Dr. Kenneth & Betty Wright Pre-Veterianarian Scholarship

Dr. Kenneth and Betty Wright have a rich history with WIU and the surrow1ding area. After completing two years at WlU, Dr. Wright went on to complete his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois. He returned to Blandinsville, IL to run a successful practice for over 55 years. Betty also possesses a strong tie to the university as her mother and six of her mother’s siblings graduated from WIU. After creating a named scholarship for students from Hancock, Henderson and McDonough counties in 2006, they decided to create this additional scholarship specifically for students interested in veterinary medicine.

CRITERIA:
Entering Freshman
Pre-Veterinary Major
Mininmm high school GPA of 3.0
Graduated from a high school in downstate Illinois
Preference should be given lo students with a background in FFA and/or 4H
Essay, in 100 words or less, answer the following question: What are you doing to prepare yourself for your specific career path in veterinary medicine?
