Samuel H. Edsall Endowed Scholarship
Anne Edsall established this legacy scholarship in honor of her husband, Samuel H. Edsall, and his tireless time and engergy dedicated to his students, department and university. Sam Edsall joined the faculty at Western as an instructor in 1989. He received his bachelor’s degree in mass communication from the State University of New York (SUNY) in Plattsburgh, NY, in 1986, his master’s degree in mass communication from Miami University in Ohio in 1988 and his MFA in computer graphics design from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2000. In addition to teaching entry level and upper division courses in television producation, with certification training on Final Cut Pro, Edsall also taught computer graphics and animation for television and oline journalism. Edsall is a member and an officer in the Broadcast Education Association and an advisor for the National Broadcasting Society.
CRITERIAA:
- Junior pursuing a B.A. degree in Broadcasting, specializing in television
- Student should be in good academic standing
- Demonstrate creative talent, commitment, leadership and professional ambition in television broadcasting
- Involvement with in department
- Student should be a practicing Christian
- Preference given to a student in need
