Beu Jeans for Scholarships

The concept for Beu Jeans for Scholarships materialized during a Beu staff retreat when an employee requested a jeans day during Homecoming week, and that perhaps employees would contribute something in exchange. Beu employees may contribute $5 on Fridays for the privilege of wearing blue jeans to work, and those contributions support the Beu Jeans scholarship, which assists students preparing to enter the health field.

CRITERIA:

• Plan to enter a health-related field (specifically nursing, medical sciences, dietetics, health services, exercise science, athletic training, emergency management, psychiatry, psychology, counseling, social work)
• Be enrolled in classes full time (any class level)
• Have at least a 2.75 high school or undergraduate cumulative grade point average
• Demonstrate financial need
• Submit a maximum 500-hundred word essay on interest in a health-related field and plans for the future
