Wayne Whipps Agriculture Scholarship
Wayne Whipps is a 1977 graduate of Western Illinois University. He loves the University and stays connected through the Agriculture and Athletics Departments. Wayne grew up on the family farm, outside of Ursa, IL and is committed to supporting agriculture in the region. At the time this scholarship is being created, Wayne and his family still own farm ground in Adams County and his mother and brother rside in Ursa. The purpose of the academic scholarship in agriculture is to help local young people afford to attend Western and also to support the enrollment efforts of the University.
CRITERIA & ELIGIBILITY:
To be awarded to an incoming freshman, incoming transfer or returning student who has declared as an Agriculture Major, with the following preferences in order of priority:
o Incoming freshman from Unity High School-Mendon, !L
o Transfer from John Wood Community College
o Incoming freshman who is a resident of Adams County, !L
