PEARLE LECOMPTE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Pearl LeCompte Memorial Scholarship was established by William H. and Thelma Byler in memory of Pearl LeCompte. LeCompte served Western as a teacher of Theatre, Arts, and English when Mrs. Byler attended Western Illinois University as a student, class of 1925. “Miss LeCompte was an outstanding person and teacher who was especially helpful to me”, according to Mrs. Byler. William H. Byler was a research scientist who dedicated his life to the study of luminescent chemicals research.

CRITERIA:
 Incoming freshman with a minimum 25 ACT, or a sophomore or transfer student with a minimum 3.0 GPA
 Theatre major
 Show academic promise
 Show promise in the field of theatre
