Dr. Gordon A. & Constance Taylor Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 1988 by their four sons in honor of their parents, Dr. Gordon A. Taylor Sr. and Constance Taylor. Gordon Sr. and Connie (Pranger) were graduates of Parker, now Robeson High School, in Chicago, and Gordon Sr. was a long-time optometrist in Galena and then Hinsdale. David Scott ‘64, Gordon Arthur Jr. ‘68, Douglas Allan ‘73, and Gregory Phillip ‘82 all earned their bachelor degrees from Western Illinois University and graduated from Hinsdale Central High School in Hinsdale, IL. Gordon (Gordy) Taylor taught in the College of Business and Technology at WIU from 1970 to 1978 as an assistant professor of Management prior to becoming Associate Vice-President of Alumni Programs. Therefore, the family has requested an entering freshman from Hinsdale Central High School with a declared major in business be the preferred recipient.
CRITERIA & ELIGIBILITY:
• Be an entering freshman with a declared major in business.
• Show evidence of extra-curricular activities and community service.
• First preference will go to a graduate of Hinsdale Central High School.
• Second preference will go to a graduate Hinsdale South High School.
• Third preference will go to a graduate from any high school in DuPage County, Illinois
