Lori Fink Bridge to Law Scholarship

Lori A. Fink graduated from Western Illinois University in 1982 with a BA in Political Science and a minor in Communications. She graduated from Washburn Law School in December 1984. Lori started her career as a Pro Se Law Clerk in the United States District Court for the District of Kansas as well as the United States Magistrate’s office before moving into private practice. A job with the Kansas Corporation Commission brought her into the world of regulatory law, and she eventually made her way to Southwestern Bell (now AT&T) in Topeka. Lori’s path took many different twists and turns in a variety of different locations, including Dallas, DC, San Antonio, Oklahoma City, and NYC, as she worked in a variety of different areas including federal and state regulatory, business sales, external affairs, and global customer service. As she began work with the corporate communications and strategy units, unanswered questions surrounding the advent of big data, and its implications for privacy, started popping up more and more. She was AT&T’s first Big Data attorney and later became Chief Privacy Officer where she focused on both policy issues and enabling the business on its data strategies. Lori moved to NYC to be Xandr’s (AT& T’s advertising and analytics company) Chief Legal Officer. She is now SVP-Assistant General Counsel leading AT&T Legal Department’s Center of Expertise on Privacy, Security and Compliance and continues to be head attorney for Xandr Marketplace. This award was created to offset the cost of Law School applications (LSAT test prep courses, LSAT, Law School Admission Council fees, and/or law school application fees) for WIU students.
