MIKE PENDERGAST ATHLETIC TR AINING SCHOLARSHIP
Michael “Pendy” Pendergast was WIU’s longest serving Head Athletic trainer; he served as WIU’s Head Athletic Trainer for 30 years as well as interim program director on two occasions (1985-86 & 1990-91). Michael received a Master of Science in Physical Education degree from WIU in 1982; he retired from WIU in 2008. The scholarship was established by family and friends of Michael Pendergast in his honor.
CRITERIA:
Major in Kinesiology
Enrolled in WIU’s Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP)
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Junior or Senior
Preference to a student interested in pursuing a career as an athletic trainer in higher education
