Michael P. Kelly Scholarship (CBT)

The Michael P. Kelly Scholarship was established in 1986 by Michael P. Kelly, a Peoria native and 1970 graduate of WIU with a degree in Accountancy. The scholarship is intended to recognize an outstanding Baseball student-athlete majoring in Business. While at WIU, Michael Kelly was a member of the 1965-69 Leathernecks football team and the 1966-67 Leathernecks baseball team. He also earned an MBA degree from Saint Louis University. He began his career as an Accounting instructor at the University of Wisconsin – OshKosh. Kelly then left for California to train under some of the original designers of the Silicon Valley spirit and credits much of his success to this time in his life. Mike Kelly’s wife, Myrna, is a 1971 graduate of WIU.

CRITERIA:
 3.0+ cumulative GPA and full-time enrollment at WIU
 Business Major
 2 letters of recommendation from WIU faculty or staff
 Demonstrates community service/leadership skills
 Copy of resume
 1 page essay on future goals and explain why you feel you deserve this scholarship
