JAMES AND EVA ANN ELMER SCHOLARSHIP - EDUCATION

Jim and Eva Ann Elmer have generously established scholarships for students pursuing degrees in WIU’s Bachelor of General Studies (formerly BOT) degree program and elementary or math education. The scholarships were originally conceptualized in 2001 with a planned gift, but the Elmers decided to also fund the scholarships on an annual basis so students can benefit in the present. James received a Board of Trustee Bachelor’s degree from WIU in 1994 and an MBA from WIU in 1995. Eva Ann received a MS in Math from WIU in 1985.

CRITERIA:
1. Enrolled in the Teacher Education Program pursuing a degree in Elementary Education or Math Education preparing for a career of teaching mathematics
2. Completed 60 semester hours (junior class level) by the conclusion of the spring semester
3. Minimum 3.0 grade point average
4. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to social responsibility that has resulted in significant personal growth. They will be expected to continue this commitment.
