The Mary Luman Shortness Scholarship in Elementary Education was established by Ernest ???Ernie? Shortness in honor of his mother. CRITERIA: Student must be enrolled at Western Illinois University, majoring in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction and pursuing the Elementary Education option, and completed 60 semester hours by the conclusion of the spring semester, A minimum grade point average of 3.0 is required, A demonstrated financial need and letters of reference from two faculty members is a requirement.
