WILLIS AND ROSEMARY ZORN SCHOLARSHIP

The Willis and Rosemary Zorn Scholarship was established in 1990 by Dr. Willis and Mrs. Rosemary Zorn in commemoration of Dr. Zorn’s retirement from Western Illinois University in 1990. The scholarship will be awarded yearly to an outstanding student who exhibits leadership, service, and academic excellence in the department. Dr. Zorn joined the Department of Health Sciences in 1968. Much of his 22 years on the faculty were devoted to the promotion of trauma education and (EMT) Emergency Medical Technician course development. His teaching duties were primarily in the area of school health education.

Zorn was also actively involved in the Eta Sigma Gamma health sciences honorary. In 1988, he received a distinguished service award from the organization. He was also very active with the American School Health Association, serving on its executive board for many years, and also received the distinguished service award

CRITERIA:
 Undergraduate majors who have completed fifteen (15) or more total hours at WIU and nine (9) or more hours in Health Sciences-related departmental courses
 Demonstrate leadership, service, and academic excellence in the department
 Demonstrate financial need and commitment to self-education
