Ida Blanch Bruner / Verlin K. Johnson Scholarship

The Ida Blanche Bruner/Verlin K. Johnson Family Scholarship was established in July of 1989 by Dr. Verlin K. Johnson of Fargo, North Dakota, in memory of his wife, Ida and her family. Mrs. Johnson was a 1941 home economics WIU graduate. She also held a M.A. from the University of Illinois in child development. She taught from 1942-50 at the University of Illinois, and from 1968-1981 at North Dakota State University. Dr. Verlin K. Johnson is a retired professor of animal science at North Dakota State University.

CRITERIA:
 Elementary Education major
 Enrolled full time student at WIU during the scholarship period
 Junior class level (minimum 60+ credit hours)
 Have completed one full year of enrollment at WIU prior to scholarship period
 Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA
 Demonstrated evidence of dependability, leadership and service will be considered in the selection process
