Donna S. Phillips Scholarship

This account was established in 2004 to honor Dr. Donna Phillips, former chair of the Dept. of Physical Education at WIU, upon her retirement from WIU. Funding for this account has come primarily through solicitations of family, friends, and co-workers after Donna’s death in 2009. An annual 5k run/walk was started in 2010 to help raise funds to get the account at endowment status.

• Sophomore, Junior or Senior undergraduate student with a major in the Department of Kinesiology.
• Minimum WIU GPA of 2.75
• Student must be engaged in professional organizations or activities within their chosen field (SHAPE, IAHPERD, NATA, NSCA, ACSM, etc.) and/or professional student associations at WIU (ATSA, DES, APEK, ESSA, etc.).

Amount of award will be based on the earnings in the endowment. The award will be applied to the student’s account ½ in the fall and ½ in the spring semester.
