MARGARET LAVERY SCHOLARSHIP

Dr. Margaret Lavery graduated from WIU in Family and Consumer Sciences. She did her graduate work at Texas Women’s University and her doctoral work at University of Texas. She worked as a clinical assistant professor of medicine and nutrition at Marshall University School of Medicine. She was also a private practitioner and a clinical dietician. Dr. Lavery received the Huddleston Award for best article published in the Journal of American Dietetic Association in 1990.

CRITERIA:
 Major in Dietetics, Fashion Merchandising and Hospitality with major option/career goal in Dietetics and plan to complete an internship and receive the R.D. credential.
 Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2
 Completed a minimum 60 semester hours by the end of the semester of application
 Financial need is not a consideration
 The financial support is intended to assist a junior class student with leadership qualities who otherwise might not be able to develop leadership activities in student organizations such as SANE or KONu.
